Fall is officially starting this weekend, and here is our list of fall traditions to do this year. Spencer and I have always loved making lists like this, for summer and Christmas especially. But this has always been my favorite time of the year, maybe because of my birthday at first, but as I got older, I realized how Colorado is at it's most beautiful during this time of the year. The blue sky turns even more blue, and the chill in the air is so comforting. It's nice to slow down, and find some rest.
Here's our list:
1. Make apple cider
2. Make pumpkin bread
3. Decorate house for fall
4. Go for walks in cozy sweaters
5. Go to mountains to see aspen leaves change color
6. Plan Halloween costume
7. Make apple crisp
8. Vote!
9. Go to a college football game
10. Make soup from scratch
What is on your list of fall traditions?
This list idea is fantastic. I might actually start doing a similar thing for the seasons. I love apple cider and will be missing it this year as its going into Summer in Australia.
ReplyDeleteOh one of my best friends lives in Australia, and she is missing fall in New England (where she and I met), too. I guess you need to create a summer to do list!
DeleteHa - I love #7. Every fall I say I'm going to make an apple pie from scratch for the first time, and I always end up making apple crisp. So much easier and just as tasty! Sounds like a lovely fall - I look forward to some of these things too. Also, running in crisp air over crunchy leaves, indulging in a little candy corn...
ReplyDeleteHaha, I said to Spencer, "Ooh I want to make an apple pie." And he just shot back, "No. Crisp." Hence, the line through pie. And I think I shall go run in crisp air over crunchy leaves right now. It's cloudy and 55 here today. And it's snowing in the mountains! Ah!
DeleteYou'll have to share the recipe after you've checked off the apple crisp... I want to try a new one this year! And we've had a few crisp mornings, which is lovely, but for one it was downright cold - had to dig out my gloves for a run this morning and started having second thoughts ;-)
DeleteThis is definitely a great list! I think I may steal a page from your book and do something similar with my hubby!
ReplyDeleteDo it! It's so fun! My favorite is always the Christmas one.
DeleteGood list! :) I've been dreaming about apple crisps and cozy sweaters, but it's still 90 degrees here.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! There's nothing better than fall in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteAspens, walks in cozy sweaters, and making soup are on my list too :)
ReplyDeleteFire-roasted green chilis at the farmer's market, crisp nights in the mountains with smells of fireplaces. I love fall.
